WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!

I'm not the easiest person to get out of bed in the morning.

My first alarm (buzzer) goes off @ 5:30, and then every 9 minutes until 6. The second alarm (radio) kicks in @ 6:00 and then the TV turns on about a minute later.

Maybe I need Clocky!

Of course inside of a week, you know what would happen...

Good News, Bad News...

First the bad news.

Us human people, we done gone bad!

The full story on this little slice of human life is explained at the ever delightful Mamapop! Thanks guys for almost bringing up my lunch...

And the good news.

One of my most favourite movies EVER is finally out on DVD. I pre-ordered my copy of Shirley Valentine this afternoon.

I dare you to watch it and NOT want to go to Greece

Flotsam, And Her Good Friend Jetsam

Today I bring you some bits and pieces.

I -- Here is an old colouring book from 1961. Pretty demented! I introduce the Executive Colouring book

II -- Next a great little Youtube video. For all of you that grew up in the 70's and 80's this should bring back some great (or may not-so-great) memories.
Good times (ha!) Ladies and germs: Battle of the Bands

III -- This picture just made me mad! Have we lost all basic rights?

IV -- And one last picture. If you don't live in my area you will have to take my word that this is a REAL sign in most of the District of North Vancouver parks. It's nice to see a government that has at least a titch of humour

Thank you for your attention :-/

Also please note. If you can't see some pictures on this site (There should be 2 in the header @ the top of the page), it may be because flickr is having some problems.

Dance, Baby, Dance...

Canine Freestyle - wiener style

And if you enjoy this kind of thing there are lots of canine freestyle videos on Youtube

Watch What You Say...

... or it just might get on the internet :-)

Gem of a sight I found through Dooce

-------

Also in the news. Tried to watch ER last week (actually a 3 week old episode as I've been stockpiling them on the pc) and finally said FUCK IT!

First 5 minutes.

  1. Major drug overdose / suicide attempt

  2. Major house fire

  3. Hostage situation

And this stuff all was happening to the main characters - not hospital patients.

So delete, delete, delete, bye bye ER - RIP

Money Where???

And here is the commercial I forgot to post the other day.

Another SuperBowl E*Trade ad from a few years ago...

General silliness :-)

Wednesday, February 07, 2007

Hey, I'm Watching That!

I have absolutely NO interest in the Super Bowl.

I believe it's a ball game. A game with grown men, and a brown oval ball. Played in a field. Wheeeeeeee!

However the Super Bowl does premier some of the best ads of the year. Luckily they are all available online - no brown oval ball kicking men needed.

Youtube has a page dedicated to the 2007 commercials. This page shows them all, but I have a few favorites.

  1. Emerald Nuts

  2. Snickers

  3. GM Robot

  4. Budweiser - Rock, Paper, Scissors

  5. Budweiser Dalmatian

  6. Sierra Mist - Comb-over

  7. Bud Light - Axe

But my all time favorite is actually from a few years ago: E*Trade $2,000,000 monkey

Enjoy

Yes Precious, It Gets The Hose

I found this bizarre video "Lotion" via the wonderfully demented group @ Mamapop.

It is taken directly from Silence of the Lambs via the band Greenskeepers

Strange mix of fun / catchy tune and psycho / sicko lyrics.

Note: NSFW

What's On The Tit Tonight?

I've cut a bunch of the links on the right. Mostly shows that are dead now. I've also added the links from this post and updated the blogroll. (Note: all links are now accessed via the "links" tag on the left side of the blog)

I swore that this season I would cut down on the amount of crap I was watching, but I think this is my worse year is a while.

Over the summer I became addicted to CSI and CSI NY and I'm not recording every #$#@$#$# episode that plays on TBS, Showcase and the History channel to try and catch up with a combined 8 years of shows. Thankfully I can't stand CSI Miami, so that lessens the load a touch.

Reason for the hate of the Miami bunch? Because

    equals

They both sound the same too

Both the hubster and I are enjoying the newest incarnation of Doctor Who. I watched the old shows when I was much, much younger, but I don't really remember them that much. Certainly enjoying this new version.

As for the new crop of shows this season. Probably the best of the batch is Shark. I know it's getting very mixed reviews, but I think it's a great role for James Woods. Sebastian Stark is a great mix - basically a good guy, but a rule bender and not above some pretty sneaky moves. Great fun...

I have mixed feelings about Heroes. At this point I'm mostly watching to find out what happens next. But I'm losing interest - save the cheerleader, potentially bore the world.

And I really want to enjoy Intelligence and mostly I am, but the plot is so damn convoluted that half the time I'm lost.

My Favourite this year has to be Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. From the guys who brought you the West Wing. Very funny stuff. I like most of the cast and they seem to be actually enjoying themselves and each other.

And would someone please explain to me why I'm still watching ER? It Jumped the Shark a hell of long time ago, and onwards I trudge...

Next entry I'll excite you with the thread count of my sheets and quotes from my VCR manual
